CADD Technology: Today's
ever-growing world and new technology demands highly trained
Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) personnel. CADD
operators are employed in fields such as architecture, manufacturing,
construction, and engineering. CADD is now used in all phases
of the design and manufacturing process. Autodesk by AutoCAD
and Adobe Illustrator are just some of the cutting edge tools
you will use in the CADD Technology program.

AutoCAD Drafting and Design:
Drafters and designers
prepare technical drawings and plans used by production and
construction workers to build everything from manufactured
products such as toys, toasters, and industrial machinery,
to structures such as houses, office buildings and bridges.
Everything has to be drawn first, and for this simple reason
there will always be plenty of CAD related careers for people
with the right skills.
CDM Institute
offers a wide array of CAD programs, with everything from
a short 85 hour AutoCAD course to an intensive four month,
500 hour CAD Industry Expert program. We also offer education
on other Autodesk CAD products like Architectural Desktop,
Land Desktop, and Inventor. We are an authorized Autodesk
Training Center (ATC) - by education through CDM Institute
you will receive certification directly from Autodesk.

Computer-Aided
Design: The degree program in Computer-Aided Design Technology
(CAD) was developed and organized for the students who are planning
to begin their careers with CAD software immediately after graduation.
Because of small classes, our students receive individual instruction,
allowing this program to provide the comprehensive skills and
knowledge necessary for the development of accurate computer-aided
graphics, design and drafting applications. Major emphasis is
placed on the use of several CAD applications such as AutoCAD,
Architectural Desktop and Microstation coupled with graphic
theory and the related fundamentals of technical design. This
program will also equip the student to convert ideas and sketched
drawings into orthographic projections, detailed drawings, floor
plan assembly drawings and three-dimensional drawings. Among
the positions available to graduates of the CAD Technology program
are: CAD operator, CAD designer, CAD manager, CAD technician,
CAD coordinator, design draftsperson, technical sales, and CAD
instructor, or graduates may transfer appropriate credits to
a four-year degree program.

Architectural
/ Civil Engineering: Building design and construction
requires a professional who understands the total project and
its unique conditions. The Architectural/Civil Engineering Technology
(ACT) program will teach students the basic facets of this complex
field. Students learn the field through courses in Architecture
Design, Structural Design and Construction Technology. The curriculum
also stresses Computer-Aided Design, materials and methods of
construction, and building codes. Advanced courses present opportunities
to solve complex technical problems. Mathematics, the physical
and applied sciences, project management, and basic communication
skills are fundamental elements in the program. Students will
receive specialized knowledge in architectural design, structural
design, or construction engineering. Graduates are qualified
for career-entry positions in Architectural/Civil and Construction
Engineering Technology, including architectural and structural
designer or drafter, CAD operator, cost estimator, survey crew
member and sales engineer. This program employs calculus which
enables students who plan to transfer to a university degree
program to continue to progress toward professional licensing.
