Associate
of
Science
in
Homeland
Response
and
Emergency
Management
program
builds
upon
the
education
and
knowledge
a
student
has
received
in
the
Homeland
Security
Certificate
program.
The
program
expands
a
student's
practical
understanding
of
the
security
field
through
in-depth
education
in
defensive
tactics,
criminal
procedures,
interview
and
interrogation
techniques,
crime
scene
and
evidence
processing,
and
investigative
report
writing.
A
student
also
gains
basic
leadership
and
management
skills
through
education
in
community
relations,
organizational
leadership,
and
emergency
communications
and
planning.

This
curriculum
offers
individuals
the
knowledge
and
skills
to
enter
or
advance
their
current
careers.
Graduates
are
trained
to
assume
safety
and
security
positions
in
the
private
and
public
sector

hospitals,
airports

public
agencies.
The
program
also
serves
personnel
already
working
first
response
positions
such
as
law
enforcement
officers,
firefighters
and
hospital
personnel.
